InfantDetailed Attention and Loving Care

Birth to 18 months

Our infant program is very flexible. We follow each child’s home routine, including nap schedules and meals until about 12 - 14 months of age at which time we gradually move them into our school routine in preparation for the toddler room. Infants sleep in assigned cribs in a separate sleep room. In accordance with the “Joint Statement on Safe Sleep: Preventing Sudden Infant Death in Canada”, infants under one year of age are always placed on their back to sleep are not given a blanket. (you may supply a sleep sack if you prefer) Sleep checks are performed by staff every 15 minutes to ensure the safety of all infants. Quiet-time activities are provided to infants that do not sleep. Parents supply all child’s necessities; diapers, wipes, creams, bottles, and food. (if they are not eating school lunch) Outside time is generally in the form of going for stroller rides in the community. Occasionally infants are taken to the outdoor play setting.

The first year of a child's life changes rapidly and is vital to their development. We provide every infant a safe and warm environment where they can develop physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively. The Once Upon A Time Child Care Centre Team , Essex.
